Welcome to The Entrance Camera Club Incorporated.

Situated on the Central Coast of NSW, we are a group of enthusiastic photographers comprising people from all backgrounds, both retired & the young. Those who began with Film in the Darkroom or more recently in the age of Digital. Expert award winners with years of experience to beginners who have just purchased their first camera. A passion for photography is our common interest. The club is affiliated with The Federation of Camera Clubs (N.S.W) Inc.

Each Friday morning a group of club members have a photo walk followed by coffee. These outings are are good way to meet members and to discuss photo ideas, techniques and equipment.

~ ABOUT OUR CLUB ~

Established Nov 1959, The Monthly Competitions form the basis of our club. Competitions are held in Digital Image (non Graded) as well as Monochrome & Colour Prints in B Grade, A Grade & Advanced. The prints are displayed around the room prior to the start of the meeting. The critiquing and subsequent discussions with the judges and other members are all great ways to learn and share new photographic techniques which you can then try yourself the next time the opportunity arises. Assisting our new photographers whilst challenging our most experienced members.

Arthur Roy becomes a Life Member of The Entrance Camera Club

At the Club’s end-of-year event, PADOTY 2021, Club President, Barbara Blades, had the great pleasure of bestowing the special honour of Honorary Life Membership on Arthur Roy. Arthur becomes the Club’s 14th Life Member over its 62-year history. He joins the ranks of outstanding Club members who have contributed greatly to the success of the Club. This honour conferred on behalf of the  Club’s Committee, is in recognition of Arthur’s service, enthusiasm and support of the Club over many years.

Arthur said this was “a surprise and a great honour”.

Arthur Roy is highly respected and loved by the Club members. The general comment by members to this announcement was “Well deserved!”.  Arthur nurtures and mentors other photographers by sharing his knowledge and by organising photographic opportunities. Arthur is an exceptionally good photographer, well known for his egret images, rodeo action shots and beautiful composites featuring his ballerina granddaughter. He is highly awarded in National and international photographic competitions. He is a role-model for all Club photographers.

His award citation reads:

The Committee is pleased to confer upon Arthur Leo Roy Honorary Life membership in recognition of his outstanding and continued service to the Club and its Members. Having been awarded the “honoured Service Member” badge in 2018, since then, Arthur has continued to serve, holding the following positions:

Currently our Members’ Representative since 2019. Arthur also stepped up as Senior Vice president to David Spratt in 2019 and as Junior Vice President to Barbara Blades from 2020, a position he holds today.

Arthur has also continued to work for the members in organising and coordinating the Friday Photowalks. With their disruption caused by Covid 19 lockdown, his convening of engaging Zoom presentations was crucial in helping our members to maintain their connectivity, photographic engagement and mojo during this uncertain time.

From everyone in The Entrance Camera Club: Thank you, Arthur, and congratulations! Well deserved!

We’re in Hansard

Following his attendance at the morning tea at our 60th Anniversary Photographic Exhibition, David Mehan MP, Member for The Entrance, spoke in the NSW Parliament about the event. He is very interested in photography and really enjoyed the exhibition. He purchased one of Grace Bryant’s images from the exhibition.

David Mehan organised for his office to send us a copy of his speech and I am pleased to share it with you.
